Terms and Conditions

General Course Terms and Conditions, VTCT (iTEC) Course Terms and Conditions, Student Code of Conduct, and Attendance & Performance Requirements

General Course Terms and Conditions:

  • To register for a course, students must pay a deposit, which will be deducted from the total course fee. Upon confirmation of this registration, the applicant is responsible for paying the balance of the total course fee.
  • If a student fails to attend a confirmed course or complete the course due to any of the following reasons: personal issues, illness, change of mind, relocation, pregnancy, family illness or death, change in personal circumstances, failure to obtain a visa or loan, fees or deposits will not be refunded, no rights will be granted for future courses, and the student will be responsible for paying any unpaid course fees.
  • Fees can be paid in full at the time of registration. Fees can also be paid with a deposit and balance, which must be paid no later than 7 days before the course start date. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your place in the course.
  • Under no circumstances are all payments made refundable or transferable.
  • At the discretion of the school, course fees may be paid by installments, subject to school approval.
  • Students approved to pay course fees through the installment payment option agree with the school to pay all fees by direct debit on preset dates. Late or non-payment may result in your withdrawal from the installment payment option, and you will pay the remaining course fees within 10 working days.
  • Direct debit must be set up at least 10 working days before the course start date. Otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel the agreed installment payment option and require payment of the full course fee before the course start date.
  • If you do not pay course fees in accordance with the agreed payment terms, we reserve the right to revoke any offer, cancel your accepted course place, exclude you from any related assessment, examination or re-assessment, not mark your assessment or re-assessment, or refuse to provide assessment or re-assessment results and materials for your course.
  • Unless otherwise stated (excluding laser courses), all students must purchase a kit and towel pack for practice purposes. Students must bring their own kit and towel pack on the training day, otherwise it will result in the student being unable to attend class/practice/undergo assessment.
  • All students will be required to practice on other students, unless a model is required for practical assessment, then it is the student's responsibility to bring one, but will be designated by "Luster Beauty International Education and Training Academy".
  • Some courses may require sensitivity testing at least 24/48 hours before the course date. Especially for eye and laser treatments, but will be specified in the course information to ensure health and safety.
  • Any medical condition or learning difficulty must be stated in writing by the student before course registration (i.e. email [email protected]), i.e. contraindications for treatment, in which case the student will need to bring their own model for practice.
  • As part of the Code of Practice, all students must behave well at all times. (i.e. hair should be neatly tied back away from the face, no jewelry should be worn, all piercings should be removed for health and safety reasons, nails should be short and clean, personal hygiene should be observed)
  • All students must wear the correct uniform for each lesson. This includes a neat "Luster Beauty International Education and Training Academy" tunic, black trousers and black flat shoes. Students must treat peers and staff in a professional and respectful manner, otherwise it will result in removal from the course and payment of any outstanding fees.
  • If "Luster Beauty International Education and Training Academy" has to cancel a course date beyond our control, then we will try to give at least 24 hours notice and reschedule another course date. We are not responsible for any travel or accommodation losses if cancellation occurs.
  • "Luster Beauty International Education and Training Academy" reserves the right to change course dates and/or venues, but will endeavor to give at least 48 hours notice.
  • These conditions form a major part of the contract between the school and the student. Only the Managing Director of the school has the authority to change or waive any terms and conditions.
  • Students are requested to collect their certificates at the Academy within six months of the notification date. The Academy will not keep certificates that are not collected after the deadline.
  • Special Course Terms "Semi-Permanent Makeup and Tattooing Related Courses" - In view of the concerns raised by the beauty industry regarding the supply and use of anesthetic creams, we have studied relevant overseas practices and the current regulatory framework under Chapter 138. In jurisdictions with regulatory frameworks similar to Hong Kong, health regulatory authorities and relevant organizations issue guidelines to tattoo service providers, reminding them that they cannot supply topical anesthetics to customers; and topical anesthetics should be obtained by customers themselves from registered doctors or registered pharmacies. In Hong Kong, the Department of Health informs the public and the beauty industry about the risks and precautions of beauty procedures through press releases and documents (such as leaflets on beauty procedures including tattooing), as well as holding various activities. This Academy does not provide any anesthetic cream. Models or clients obtain anesthetic cream themselves from registered doctors or registered pharmacies, and the models or clients apply it themselves to the soothing skin area. (If any)

  • If a student fails the VTCT (iTEC) written theory examination, the first retake is free, after which each retake will incur a fee of HKD1500.00. This depends on the student possibly having a valid reason to explain why they did not pass the exam, and the school reserves the right to deem whether the conditions under which the student failed the exam are valid. If the exam is failed, it is at the school's discretion when the exam can be taken.
