Job Responsibilities

A Beauty Consultant's role extends far beyond simply providing beauty treatments. They are beauty industry professionals who must be proficient in various beauty techniques, including skincare, makeup, and hair removal. They tailor treatment plans and offer expert advice based on individual client needs and skin types. This requires in-depth beauty knowledge, skillful use of various products and equipment, and a commitment to delivering top-quality service to maximize client satisfaction and loyalty. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-end beauty treatments: Beauty Consultants must be proficient in skincare, makeup, and hair removal techniques, providing customized treatment plans based on client needs.
  • Mentoring and training junior therapists: Acting as a leader, guiding and training junior beauty therapists to ensure the team maintains a high professional standard.
  • Participating in product development and marketing: Contributing to product development or marketing initiatives, staying abreast of market trends, and providing expert advice to the company.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships: Establishing and maintaining stable client relationships, enhancing client satisfaction and loyalty.

Working Hours and Environment

  • Approximately 40-44 hours per week.
  • Primarily based in a beauty salon.

Personality and Career Development

  • Meticulous and patient individuals are preferred. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is encouraged, such as pursuing advanced qualifications or specializing in a particular area (e.g., anti-aging treatments or medical aesthetics).

Salary and Career Progression

  • Beauty Consultant: Approximately HK$29,000 - HK$80,000 starting salary.
  • Senior Beauty Consultant/Manager: Approximately HK$80,000 - HK$150,000 starting salary.

Note: Salary and post-promotion compensation vary depending on the company, experience, and skills.

Entry Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic beauty treatments.
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Beauty Specialist (highly recommended).
  • VTCT (iTEC) Level 4 Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (highly recommended).
